I played that black MIJ strat for 25 years, neck warped and now I never touch it. But MAN that thin sanded neck feels GOOD. The daphne blue MIM strat is a perfect practice beater. It’s very difficult to sound good on, and I find if I can sound decent on it, the I sound awesome on the AV65s. It’s valuable in that sense! Notice Satan on the headstocks, my old pal.

Re: Show your stickered up guitars!
My Ibanez Talman bass. I got it so I'd have a short scale with flatwounds. Very enjoyable. But my mind started going "Maybe I should get a little bit nicer bass" even though it plays and sounds PERFECTLY FINE. To sabotage these useless thoughts I stickered it, knowing full well I'm too lazy to get the stickers off to sell it.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

That's awesome! I didn't know that they made the Talman Basses in a short-scale! Is that an older thing? I was thinking the same thing, but their current line (with a lefty I think!) is only 34".

Thanks! Yeah, the 30" scale TMB30 came out in 2016 and they still make it. They're solid and great value for the money. Especially if you need a second bass. And my only mod was getting rid of the J pickup and upgrading the P pickup.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 5:09 pmThat's awesome! Damn, it looks like it's just a righty available in 30". I do really like it though! What pickup did you upgrade the P with?vistavision wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 7:58 pmThanks! Re: Show your stickered up guitars!
did you see hazel's video on flatwoods monster appearances in video games? that's what got me interested in it (to the point where i'm getting a tattoo of it on saturday) i do wanna visit flatwoods if i get the chance. it seems like they really leaned hard into that whole thing and it's actually quite cute that they did so. like "yeah, we're well known for a cryptid/alien sighting to the point where we have a museum which contains memorabilia related to flatwoods monster appearances in media and we even have giant chairs shaped like the monster"Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 9:16 am

It’s probably crappy of me to say but most of West Virginia, especially that area, is way way way down the list on interesting things to do or see in America. If you’re into the outdoors thing you’d be hard pressed to find better hiking or hunting or fishing, but Flatqoods especially is way far away from anything and very, very small. Brass tacks, there isn’t much there and like a google virtual tour of the museum is more than enough If hiking and camping is your thing, though, that area is actually pretty great.
But that’s sweet of you. If you are on the outdoors kick you’d like it a lot here, especially that part of the state. If you ever make it over you’ll have to hit me up and I can take you to get a pepperoni roll, which is our state’s signature food. I have no idea how serious or far along you are in planning a trip, but I’m very serious, you have to let me know if it ends up happening! I’ll need you to bring me some Irn Bru and a box of Mars bars and we can go antiquing
Every fall there’s a Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant that is allegedly awesome. I’ve yet to make it down for one yet but hopefully that’ll change this fall.

A DiMarzio Area P. Very awesome 60's sounding P pickup. With flatwounds it's the bees knees. What sucks is it's apparently out of production. It was never on DiMarzio's site but you could order them separately outside of their Area PJ set.

That's a bummer. For me, there's nothing quite like a good P-bass sound-wise.vistavision wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 9:43 amA DiMarzio Area P. Very awesome 60's sounding P pickup. Re: Show your stickered up guitars!
Aaron @ Rumpelstiltskin wound the pickup for my P! Bass above and I'm really happy with it so far. I've had pickups for a few guitars wound there and I've been very happy with every set! Rumpelstiltskin also no longer lists any bass pickups on their site but they can wind them by request.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 9:52 amThat's a bummer. As a Simpsons obsessed nerd I LOVE this sticker. once I figure out how to post pictures (not sure if I’m just being simple) I’ll post my old 90’s squier Strat, my first ever guitar covered in stickers, mostly from 90’s music mags.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 10:39 amI never was a stickers on guitars kind of person.
But.
I got a free Mr Sparkle sticker with a recent T-shirt purchase, and my Electrical Guitar Company Tyranny was looking really bare.
