That puffball is a moody little grouch really. He wouldn't tolerate being squeezed and kneaded in the slightest he's very much a 'I choose to cuddle you at this particular moment only, and I will only half sit on you at that...you should feel blessed that I bother to even acknowledge your existence' kinda guy....until it's dinner time, obviously, and then you are the only object of his attention.
He does love to play with the other cats though and is the first one to trill and bounce to get someone else to have a tumble with him as they pass.

Re: Offsets with cats
Lt. Dan is a sweet boy, but he had a rough start in life: he lost his leg after being thrown out of a moving car on I-95 in Delaware. I suspect that wasn't the beginning of his trauma; he has a very high sense of stranger danger. He hides whenever we have visitors, I've only seen him emerge for two people, my army buddy James, who's stayed with us twice and gives steady introvert vibes, and my partner's sister, who's not particularly introverted, but is a frequent visitor. even then, he doesn't come out right away. it took a couple years before he'd let me pet him, but now after 6-1/2 years, he lets me pick him up, but only when he's in the mood for it; i can only pet him in a few spots in our flat: when he's on the back of the couch, when he's on his favorite chair and when he's laying on our bed. My partner is able to handle him more, but he's firm with his boundaries just the same. Amazingly, he has no murder button- you can rub his belly and instead of attacking when he's had enough, like every other cat does, he just gets up and leaves.DeathJag wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 11:57 amLt. Dan looks like an affable fellow! I want to squeeze him too. Bronwyn is... art. That cat is beeeyoootiful! Damn! So poised with such a sleek coat. That cat I don't want to squeeze and knead, that cat is enough to just look at. A stunner!
My cat pals were happy to see me, I was gone for four days. Sorry no pix right now. At least not with offsets, sorry, board!
Bronwyn, or Wynni, as we call her, is our new kitten, she's about 8 months old and we've had her for a couple months. She's a joy, playful, loving and sweet, if not also squirmy and mischievous, as kittens are. My partner's previous cats were definitely bonded to her and her alone, so it's nice to have a cat who's bonded equally to us both.

Holy fuck she is beautiful!!!Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 5:20 amBronwyn is more like Les Paul Black Beauty: small and decidedly not offset.
So regal looking.
Looks like she has some Asian lineage.
I don’t think any of us will complain if you posted a few more pics.

New to the cat world. I was, and still am I, more of a dog person, but I live in a big city, so a cat is way easier. Réglisse is not even 4 months old. Very loving and loveable kitten.

Re: Offsets with cats
Had to take my Gizmo to have her put down last week. Still crying so much, I just miss her. She was 15.
We are now without any cat in the house and I hate it. We told our girls that we'll start looking for some new ones after spring break this year.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Always utterly heartbreaking. I lost my #1 boy about 5 years ago and I still well-up when I think of his passing (before his time too).
You're right to take some time before filling the gap. Hoping you go the rescue route too.
Sending big virtual hugs

That sucks. I'm so sorry. SUPER pretty calico coat! Only knowing you from your posts, I'm going to guess she was a beloved and pampered scamp. She's lucky she had a good owner. You gave her a good life, one that about 90% of all cats would consider extreme luxury. Just the other day I was thinking about when was the last time that I really cried uncontrollably for a long time. It was when my last cat died. I could use a cry or two like that now but I don't want to have to lose a cat for that! I'm mourned and grieved but the moment I got new cats the grief gradually turned to gratitude, I was honored to be the caretaker for their lives. And the new cats are so fucking great. I didn't realize I had this much to say about it! Hey is that a glass eye? It looks like those demon eyes contact lenses. Also I recently saw a video where a girl put Indian ink in her eye by accident and her whole eye turned black just like that. It's probably some horrible medical thing and I'm sorry if I'm bringing up terrible shit.
