Kasho Picks.

Post by fuzzking » Fri Dec 15, 2006 1:24 am

Maybe a bit off-topic, but I don't know weher else to post this (maybe it belongs in a nerd section):

I found a make of Picks that is absolutely tremendous:
There's a japanese company that makes  real celluloid picks, they feel very natural (kind of "soft" on the
surface, still a fantastic grip) and they have very snappy attack , creating very full tone. They are available
in a regular "Fender"-Shape. My quest for Picks has ended (and I tried them almost all) . I found them to be
so good that I immediately ordered a whole bunch. I don't know about their distribution, I happened to stumble
across them when a friend gave some to me, saying "You're into that vintage stuff, righ? I just can't play fast
enough with these.", and I found a retailer here in Germany.

I have no affiliation with the company, I'm just very happy with these things.

Cheers, Michael

Oddness galore ("Urrgh, Sharkfins").
I think the standard shape is the one to go for.
I am perfectly happy with it.

That one all the way on the left would be perfect for me.

I never use the sharp edge of the pick, anyway.

Thanks for sharing!

That one on the far right would be perfect for me because I alway drop mine, due to the smallness of the non-sharp edge of the pick. If that makes any sense to anyone

Haven't tried burning one, but they are listed in Fender catalogs, etc. as celluloid.  I assume they'd call them something else if they weren't actually made from the stuff.

I love these picks. I'm not very picky when it comes to picks (harhar), but I instantly fell in love with the Kashos.
I use the medium thickness, classic form, picks. Not only do they look good in the purse among the change where I use to keep my picks, they "feel" right to me and go very well with my .11/.52 strings.
The sound is, hmm, I think "warm/mellow" would describe it best - the pick "attac" sound is not as pronounced as with my other picks (but this may be credited to the "medium" thickness"), and once the edge has become a bit rounder, they "glide" very well over the strings.
look ma, no string-buzz
