Will probably be stronger, as to avoid the neck bending with the increased pull of 12 strings. We'll see...

Laurel is not the optimal solution, but the only guitar I have with Pau ferro, I've been giving it treatments to he fb with Monty wax. It helps but Pau can be "orangey".
Im all about aesthetics and Laurel can get darker easily.

Re: Brand New Squier Paranormal 2023
yeah screw it, i`m going to buy that 12 string.
I had the fender xii from a few years ago, but i ended up selling it as it just wasn't getting all that much use. I can definitely get behind buying a squier model assuming it will be in the ballpark of $500 CDN.

Same here. I still have the Fender but will sell. No use to have an "expensive" guitar not getting used.

Yes, totally. I'm kinda wishing the Bass VI had that headstock.bluemonday wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 4:14 pm(...) and that headstock shape accents the body really well. Paranormal or not I think that is one elegant design.

I dig the Rascal and the XII. The Esquire Deluxe is a tad interesting as well.

Re: Brand New Squier Paranormal 2023
Glad to see Fender finally hitting the market with (another) affordable XII! I scooped up an AR XII in early 2020 because I had a feeling they wouldn't be around long, especially given the lack of advertising. Hopefully this Squier JM XII stays in the catalog longer.
The neck heel on the Esquire Deluxe is interesting. That seems to be a Tele-shaped heel with a Strat headstock, which I don't recall ever seeing on any Deluxes, either vintage or reissue. It was my understanding they always just used Strat necks for Telex Deluxes, with the corresponding rounded-off heel. That one looks like a genuine square Tele heel, which would imply that neck is being specially made for that model.
