If you copy and paste the BBcode (listed under the photo) that'll do the trick for you in futureGuitarman555 wrote: βTue Aug 22, 2023 12:42 amThanks mate, I never found out how to publish here pics, it allows me only the annoying links but no direct pics

Just came to say that clipped ground wire really pisses me off haha! It looks like staggered poles? Cool! I have a set of '65 jag staggered pickups and I love the sound. Never heard the earlier version tho-

I'm gonna go with PE, but the lighting makes me not sure.
I will say that it must sound excellent considering how much evidence there is on the cover that the guitar hasn't been put down since the '60s.

I'm that annoying guy that doesn't clip wires at all and zip (or velcro) ties off the excess. Mainly because every time I've shortened a wire I've ended up having to extend it for some reason.

You know, it was too early in the morning when I looked at that pic and didn't even notice.
Staggered pole Jag pickups aren't super common, right? Were there any changes to them outside of the pole heights?
I ask because I do have a tendency to prefer Tele bridge pickups wound like the '60s pickups with a raised D&G and that's kind of a whole thing unto itself.

Staggered pole pickups were standard from late 1963 (both jags and strats). Flat pole pickups were before this date, cca.

Correct, my '62 has flat pole pickups (which are magnificent)Guitarman555 wrote: βTue Aug 22, 2023 5:04 amStaggered pole pickups were standard from late 1963 (both jags and strats). Flat pole pickups were before this date, cca.

That is Formvar wire.
Plain Enamel is much darker purple-reddish color to it, versus the orange copper color of Formvar you see here. Granted it's oxidized and a little dirty so not as bright as brand new Formvar.

Yes, could be still formwar, I think there was an overlaps of formwar and PE throughout end of 64 and 65. This one should be May 65 according the pencil code ..

Why do I feel like Jazzmasters (I know we're talking Jags) were PE then Formvar, though?Guitarman555 wrote: βSun Aug 27, 2023 10:38 am
Stratocaster pickup show this, should be PE, but maybe in case of jags the timing was few months shifted...?
