Following along with Larry's excellent Epi Christmas tree format ...
A Casino Coupe from China, 01/22. I found this used on Reverb for $400, no case, and it fit the bill. I wanted something for a camping trip and this worked out pretty well.
The original nut was soft and powdery and I actually broke it just lowering a slot with a nut file. So ... new nut. I'm not quite done with it, obviously. The board is Pau Ferro and isn't the most handsome thing. The pickups are adequate but I didn't really buy it to plug in anyway. It plays reasonably well and volume-wise it's maybe a touch louder than my 345 and not as loud as my 175, so what one would expect and hope for. The neck profile is a D and is really flat on the back but is okay. Fit and finish is great for the price.
All in all, thumbs up.

I always wanted one of those, in that exact same color. It satisfies my delusions that I can have all the Casino goodness while having the upper range of the fretboard be accessible for when I eventually venture there some day.
Man, this gives me slight GAS. But why buy a Casino to go on a camping trip — just buy a smallish acoustic guitar? Or is it because you enjoy the mechanics of playing an electric guitar more and the casino will give you this with slightly-above-average unplugged volume? Either way, congrats!

Thanks. Yeah, I just like playing electrics and don't really care for playing steel strung acoustics. Give me an acoustic and I'll just play the The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald over and over. On top of that, I don't want to be an annoyance with anything louder while others are trying to enjoy nature. I play unplugged around the house, too, so it ticks a lot of boxes.
Assuming mine is representative, I think they're a pretty fair deal for $500 new.

Sure, I get that you don't want to take the acoustic out and kill the party with Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, but I'm surprised you don't just take out the old ES-175 out and kick it up with Breezin'?
Anyway nice tree and guitar!

Thanks! The tree was my grandmother's and I've been its caretaker for quite a while now. It'll outlast all of us.
The 175 would be good but I'd be kind of apprehensive to leave it laying around in the tent or car when I was off hiking. Besides, the finish on the Casino is indestructible. I'm not even worried about a case.

Nice. Just realized this is smaller than a Casino. Great colour choice too.

For fuck’s sake, not once in my life have I tried to play that song. After reading that and chuckling the other day, didn’t I find myself mindlessly humming and thumbing away to find those stupid chords and now I can’t stop either.

I'm so sorry.
I was sitting in a neighborhood bar a couple months ago, pretty drunk, and someone played it on the juke box and then followed it with Baker Street. They're pretty similar and I can probably cure myself of the whole mess if I puzzle out those smoking sax licks and merge the two.
Sorry again, in advance.

Nice one, Tom. Congrats!

Thanks all. The color in the pic is a little screwy because of the color wheel shining on the tree, but it's a nice turquoise. I was debating between this and a
Squier sherwood green thinline and Nicole chose turquoise.
The smaller body is nice. It's very couch friendly which is where I usually am.

There's some latent beauty in that scene you described up there, it could also make guy just want to barf too though, that whole scenario just kinda straddles that line. A+

I’ve decided to forgive anything else Gerry Rafferty did solely based on what a masterpiece
Right Down the Line is. (
Stuck in the Middle With You deserves honorable mention as well.)
