Re: Lavaguards are Legit
Good to know. I'm considering one for my lefty Jazzmaster and I'd hate for it to not fit/be misshaped etc.. The Dark burgundy tort he does is really spot on and looks so close to vintage fender tort, its very impressive.

Ah yeah - 100% the body not the guard!
I found the body severely over sanded in that area on the lower horn and around the neck pocket. I repaired the neck pocket area by adding wood and rerouting but I didn’t mess with the horn. The picture angle makes it look super extreme!

I’ll add to this; all the screw holes lined up perfectly on my AV65 too, with both my guards. Basically, buy with confidence.

Ah yes! Sorry, hope I didn't cause any offence, I can totally see the reshaping there now! Think i'll be going for one of these then! Cheersrexter wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 9:33 am

I’m sure if you asked specifically then he can do it. Anyone with google could to be fair.

I ended up with the one that got replaced thanks to Gav here and holy fuckin crap it is seriously perfect. It looks even better than the 65 guard on my Jaguar, just beyond impressive, beautiful work being done here.

Hi is Lavaguards still trading? The website has said ‘orders on hold due to workshop relocation” for quite sometime. I sent a message via the website asking when he would be taking orders again but no response

Looks like he's sold the last of his stock. There were a few for sale when I checked a couple of months ago (I want one for my Japanese Jag) but nothing at the moment. Hope he comes back online!

Yeah, there were some plates I was eventually looking to get... I hope that everything's OK for both, even if they're quitting.Daitong II wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 10:57 amSo sad. Re: Lavaguards are Legit
Where did you see they were quitting? Just because he’s on a hiatus doesn’t mean he’s quitting. I play music at events. Sometimes once a month. This year it’s only been once every 6 months. He very well could just be working when he wants. Just slowed down to accommodate my other life goals. I don’t think we should assume he quit. He’s successful. He may or may not resume when he wants toGilmourD wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 11:45 amYeah, there were some plates I was eventually looking to get...
