I’m back in the club too. The 9th tele I’ve owned over the years and it came out of the blue when a friend very unexpectedly gifted me this ‘93 Tele Plus. Greenwood for days etc etc

Ah, very nice. Wish Fende® and others would tint their classic colours this way, especially since the modern ones won't fade.

currently renewing my friendship with a parts tele after experimenting with weird strings and tunings. it has currently got uncompensated straight threaded saddles on which i have derided in the past. loving them right now. just a pure honest guitar that can do anything and sounds great.

My wife bought me a Tele today. It's one of the 2008 Squier black / double humbucker customs. Super cheap deal (she knows my tastes better than I probably do and I love her) and it means I've now got 5 Telecasters plus one in bits and pieces in a parts drawer. I love cheap Squier gear, and as a former vintage gear snob they go against everything I used to believe in and be obsessed with. But if something just hits the spot, and does what you need it to do, and does it well, then I'm all in. I used to keep a 1968 Tele just to use on sessions and on tours as a sideman, but at home I'd play a Squier 72 Thinline with the fakey WRHB's.

I would probably rock a Lidl Telecaster and a Lidl Jazzmaster too, if they were a thing. Not sure if that's a cry for help or an admission of super uncoolness, but I'd probably buy them anyway.

I refinished my blonde tele this past week. It turned out OKAY.

That finish just absolutely NAILS it. Did you do it yourself? Any tips? I have an 87 MIJ TL52 needing a good blonde.

Thanks! Looks can be deceiving… It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for an apartment job.

I used Rustoleum Heirloom White, which is very similar to Duplicolor Wimbledon White. It’s basically Olympic white. BUT I put a few coats of Tru Oil on it to amber up the white to that aged white blonde colour. I figure as it ages, it will show the white underneath much like a vintage yellowed top coat would.

I’ll probably redo it in the future, but right now, in the dead of winter? It will do!

Wow! What an awesome friend. This model is probably my favorite tele. I’ve never gotten to play one though
