Anyone got any ideas on what the new “NOTA” JHS pedal could be?

Everyone needs a stompbox.

It was inevitable. Every time a JHS pedal thread starts it tends to quickly devolve into a bashing session. (In a way it reminds me of all the relic’ing threads years ago; you couldn’t get more than 3 posts in before someone had to state their opinions on relics as a genre, and we were off to the races.)

For the sake of the OP, can we please get back on track?
Agreed!

Well I guess we all know it’s a dumble now. I personally have never really understood the appeal of the dumble, or how it’s so much better than a clean Fender sound. Other than the SRV/John Mayer connection and lore surrounding them, I can’t say I’ve heard much about them really otherwise.

What is it about the Dumble sound that you like? Sell it to me basically haha, I like trying new pedals, so who knows… maybe I’ll give it a go when I see one at the shop!

I've tried to understand the dumble tone but all I've ever heard from that tone is the SRV JM bendy blues noodle soup. If that's to people's taste it's totally cool. My biggest takeaway from the demo video was that even at the end when he tried to demonstrate some more alternative / shoegaze playing the guitars tone still had that bluesy mid range eq even if it was washed by reverb and delay.

I would definitely try a NOTADMM but there's probably way less a market there.
reads everything in J Mascis voice

It's really the Larry Calton and Robben Ford sound but they're not as famous as SRV, etc. Their sound is that smooth, fat, honking goose jazz/blues hybrid tone that I really don't like. John Mayer is the Starbucks version of SRV. Yes, he's a good player but he's boring. Did he drink whisky with cocaine in it? Nope, he did not. Poseur.
