finishing, together with a neck i had laying around, so he can do the setup for me. point is, he told me he just shot
the first coloured layers and i started doubting whether i should also have the heastock lacquered... it's currently
in a light natural nitro finish. i'm normally not too fond of matching headstocks, but somehow i started feeling
that if i go for a color like this, the headstock should be matched for some reason. it's more of a gut feeling than
a rational thing (like: what would be vintage correct?). maybe it's that the natural (fresh wood) coloured headstock
would be far too bright, but i really don't know.
so guys: please help me decide. :-\
i also have a nice vintage tort guard and some pus and all the electronics, so i'm ready to go once it's finished.
can't wait....
btw: this is the guitar that helped me decide to go shell pink with tort:

it won't be sunburst underneath, though.

[edit:]
this is my '63, one of the few matching headstocks i like... maybe they would go well together?
