I'm looking arounf at different amps and came across this:

Haven't heard any talk about their quality. Anybody tried out this one, or any Kustom amps?

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
depends what you mean by "good."
The old ones were weird, cheap, and cool looking. Sounded like a big ball of ugly. For some music that's just the ticket. For some it's not.
I have no clue about the current amps made by whomever bought the rights to use the name.
That's the biggest thing to look into. Find out who bought the name and you can figure out a lot about the amps.

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
well, I found this :They are taking orders and providing customer service for the products and lines of Hanser Music Group, including Davitt & Hanser Accessories, Kustom Amplification, Michael Kelly Guitars and Mandolins, Traben Basses, BC Rich Guitars, and Rockfield Pickups.
So, I'm thinking Not Very Good.

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
Honestly, I liked the Kustom '36 Coupe that I played many moons ago at the Natick, MA GC.
The clean channel was very punchy, and had a great Trem/Verb setup.
The overdrive channel was awesome. With a P-90'd Gibson I nailed that Weezer Blue Album sound I've been after for so long.
Don't judge until you try it, they're a steal if you can find one cheap!

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
The price is 600 bucks for a tube amp. Most tube amps are 900 up. I am wondering if these are made in China with cheap crap PC board mounted pots (which always break).
They may sound good new, but I wonder if they will hold up, being so cheap?

I would say they are as good as crate or peavey and about in the same price range.

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
I do have a "Table" amp that has had problems. And they are built well. Perhaps the designs are not foolproof.
I wonder sometimes if plate resistors get lousy or hot and change their values or simply burn out, and that causes this crappy sound problem.

Well, I'll be sure to boogie the heck away from the table when I see them! That's two black Marks against them.

Re: Kustom Amps---Any Good?
Well shoot! I hope they Rectify the situation! Seems like they have some Maverick amps that need to get the F back up to code here!
