Hard Rock Vault's Cobain mislabelling

Post by Naturality » Fri Jan 26, 2007 2:43 pm

I've seen 3 or 4 sites on which people post pictures of this guitar:
Image
Claiming it is Kurt Cobains. It is NOT. Kurt Cobains was a Jaguar! Grr...

Nein, no worries, I'll google it.I hate it when people invent 'details' about artists to sell gear like Kevin Shields and the Marshall Shredmaster - he never ever used one yet everywhere claims he did. It doesn't seem this is done with a sale in mind though?

I don't even think Kurt ever used a jazzmaster. But at the same time, I don't even care. It looks like a mij, also.

According to http://www.kurtsequipment.com
" The Hard Rock Cafe's collection of guitars mistakenly claims to own Kurt's "trademark" Fender Jazzmaster which is autographed. Kurt has told Earnie Bailey on several occasions that he never used a Jazzmaster. Earnie chased down a lefty Jazzmaster for Kurt once but he and Krist decided it was too expensive, as it was going to be purchased as a surprise"

he didn't? guitargeek.com says he did? I am so confused  :?
It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

Kevin Shields' guitargeek rig is incredibly inaccurate, according to some people who I've been talking to who worked on MBV tours. The same goes for bilinda's rig on that site too.

I get my information from the same source as Chris, apparently Kevin used 2 Marshall Guv'Nors as his main distortions.
