talk about a matching headstock!
not a Fender, but an offset nonetheless...is that a headstock matching the pickguard?

What is it? Looks a bit like an Egmond.

Re: talk about a matching headstock!
I've seen authentic MOP clad headstocks that look just like that on a few custom shop Fender Stratocaster guitars. Haven't seen one on a Jag or Jazzmaster. I doubt they get a lot of requests for that sort of thing.

It IS an Egmond! A local shop here has two for sale, click on "Egmond" in the link.

Re: talk about a matching headstock!
I sort-of want one. A lot of Dutch '60s bands played Egmonds because they couldn't afford an import. I've never played one, but apparently (and unfortunately) they have a reputation for being not that great. These things are typically covered in vinyl (like many Höfners from the same era)...I've always found those finishes strangely alluring.

my old teacher has a few Egmonds. He has a bass guitar by Egmond hanging on the wall, he says he touched it once to hang it up there when it was still in a pristine condition... it broke all by itself.Orang Goreng wrote: I sort-of want one. There were cheap and expensive Egmonds, some of the more expensive ones might be pretty decent.

I expect they go "thump" when you drop them. Otherwise, I wouldn't know, though I probably have some CDs they are used on.zhivago wrote: what do they sound like?
