CRAP! I bought a Rhodes:(
I'm going crazy, man. I drove 2 hours up to austin today to have a look at a rhodes mark II 73 in excellent condition. I've been wanting one for a while, and this was a good deal in very clean shape. I was just hoping it would be the less desireable plastic hammer model so I could talk myself out of it...but no.
I've not given it a play since I got it home, its a bit too late, but my first thoughts are itll do with a set up, I think, its slightly too polite sounding for me at the moment.
I cant afford this. Why would I do it?! I'm gonna have to sell all my other little toys to pay for this
Hopefully it'll turn out worth it. Any other Rhodesers here?

One of my bandmates has one, and I've been trying to talk him out of it! He won't sell it, but I will own one!! Unfortunately, they will all be 5000 dollars by the time I get around to it!
Damn kids, get off my lawn!

It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

Re: CRAP! I bought a Rhodes:(
looking back at the posts, I can see why manwith2brains thought it was a guitar - all this talk of sticking it through marshalls and fuzz pedals!

Re: CRAP! I bought a Rhodes:(
hahah, I can see that too, since I was talking about a set up and whatnot.
As an update, it seems the rhodes stay will be short lived. I cant afford it to begin with, and it aggrivates my tendonitis. I played for an hour the day it came in, and my hand crippled all up for a couple days and I couldnt play guitar or draw without accute pain. This happens to some extend with certain guitar necks, a bit with the last SG I had, but this was the worst. I've played plenty of non-weighted synths without a problem, maybe thats what did it?
a keyboardist friend of mine suggested lubricating the felt, and that might help a little, but then I would be spending time on something Im mad at instead of playing guitar.
Ah well, maybe I'll have to get a proper emulation of a rhodes someday... Thanks for the support guys:)
