I played one of those on a gig once into a Peavey 4x12 that sounded really good.  I might start looking for one!
they are usually really cheap, i bough mine for $150. i bought it in desperation when my main amp quit on me two days before a tour, and i was basically broke. they aren´t very versatile, but the one sound it does do well just happens to suit me. i only use the lead channel, which only has 3 knobs, tone, volume and gain. it´s like a RAT with a 100W power amp.
Spot on! ;D

I've always loved Super reverbs, even though they weigh a ton!    I picked up a 74 SR, that was recovered in tweed, and has been converted to the black face circuit.  I absolutely love it for surf music on my JM, but I really don't like it with my Big Apple Strat.  If I switch guitars, I need to change most of the eq.

Same as RumorsOfSurf, but mine is green 8) Played it live for the first time last weekend and love it. Before that, I used a vintage Bandmaster Reverb with large 212" cab but it wasn't really the kind of sound I was looking for, too clean for my taste and too much low end.

well, unlike most of you here, I don't use a Fender/Vox/Marshall amp. I'm using a Koch Powertone2. This is a dutch buildt 3-channel hi-gain amp. Why you ask? Well the reason is simple. For most of my life ( I've been playing guitar since I was 7) I've been using an old marshall VS100 amp. After serveal years I thought it was time for me to get myself a proper amp. Since I don't really like meddeling arround wioth pedals and such, I dediced I needed at least a 2-channel amp. So i tested a lot of Marshalls and ENGLs ( which are pretty common here). But most of them didn't cut it with my jazzmaster. It was either a great clean sound, and a sloppy overdrive, or the other way arround. Untill they brought out a Powertone 2. At frist I was verry sceptical, it being a massive 120Watts 3-channel Higain amp, but the local store owner said I had to try it out. Well once i did I was hooked. It had an amazing chrystal-clear clean, very vintage-like crunch and a massive higain distortion, which sounded awesome with my jazzmaster. SO I took it home with me and scared the hell out of my roommates ;).

it might seem a bit odd to you, but I've had much compliments about my sound after I bought this amp. Most people are totally amazed that I run a jazzmaster ( and a strat) through this amp, and even more so when the hear how it sounds :)

I think that's why most of us use so many boxes, it's hard to find an amp that has 3 chanels that sounds that good with a JM.
It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

I play my 65 jazzmaster thru  my 1967 Princeton Reverb and my Bedrock BC-75. Both are killer amps.

I think that, like when playing a  Boss Deluxe Reverb pedal through a Deluxe Reverb amp, the sounds cancel each other out...all you hear is silence :P

Fender Twin 1981 with electrovoice speakers - really bright. Great with any guitar.
Marshall 2555 head with a 4X12 cabinet. Oddly it sounds better with single coil giuitars including my Jag and JM, but especially strats.
Bassman 50 watt silverface with a 4X12 cheap cab.
Fender Priinceton - really surprising great sound.
Mesa Boggie 50 caliber + combo with one 12 in speaker sounds OK but really shines when connected to a 4X12 cab.

I have a Fender Blues Deville that at one time sounded really good but it sucks now and I am trying to fix it. New tubes, new tube sockets - nothing worked.
I may have a bad resistor someone told me in the plate circuit of one of the power tubes.
I havent had time to see

The blues/hot rod series aren't built all that well - i originally had a Hot Rod Deluxe, but it died on me within a week - one of the valve sockets wasn't wired in properly. I got a Blues Deluxe instead (it's a better amp IMHO) but I do worry about its reliability.

Yeah, my old bandmate used the HR Deville (2x12 model) and it was great with my JM. It had a very healthy low end--balanced would be a good word.
That being said, the amp was a nightmare in repair issues and costs. I vowed to steer clear of this amp--prefer the blackface tone anyway.
