I think that was me :)

glad to see the pics of this place...I always remember the full page ads they used to have in Guitarist magazine back in the the early-mid 90s and always wondered what the place looked like

Do you think they have pickguards?  The PG on my starstreamer is cracked in two places, so a new on would be nice.

Cool pics btw.

Trust you!!  ::)

The one item I couldn't find was a replacement guard for my Ultrasonic. Its a different shape to the Starstreamer but I'm pretty sure its the same material - a kind of dark browny/red slightly translucent celluloid? Mine was all curly when I got the guitar & I ended up snapping it trying to flatten it out (don't ask).

They've got a whole heap of other guards and, who knows, he may be able to pick up a blank sheet of it from Italy. Don't hold your breathe though.

My 'streamer is in for a fret dress and general tune up, to be honest I have hardly played it because I bought a share in it and it took a while to do a deal for the whole thing because I found it originally many years ago and  stood aside to let my friend buy it for very little and I felt I was owed a deal on it.  I'll ask the guy who is doing the work about the pickguard, which is indeed the same toffee like substance.  He makes archtops and acoustics and might know of something suitable.  Otherwise black might be the only option.

The neck looks really good.

I'm going back in on Monday to look for a few other parts I forgot to ask about.

I'll ask if they have any replacement guards for your Starstreamer, or if they have a template to work from.

It's gonna take a bit more than that too.

I need to get a gap filler made that'll narrow the neck pocket, one that can be easily removed though as I'll be switching back to 12 strings from time to time.

Funny, this is all about aesthetics. How sad is that?? hehehehehehhe.

I've got an idea of how to do it (thin metal sheet with neckplate screw holes drilled, wooden gap filler glued to it, painted & maybe with a rubber trim).

Ben, if you're out there I might enlist your help. You might be busy but hopefully the prospect of having the Ultrasonic for a week or so might tempt you.

Cool pics, I see stuff like that sometimes and wonder why I insist on making my necks myself.  ???

Hey Ben, if/when you go keep your eyes open for a trem like that one you had that you sold to Pat.  I still haven't found another like it.

I just measured each neck at its widest point.

The 6-string is 51mm, the 12-string is 57mm.

That's probably little more than 3mm either side! Maybe there's another way of doing this.

Keep your eyes peeled for PM's. I think I should swing by yours soon with what I have & we could hopefully wok something out....
