Re: guitar parts resource
I have never had less than quick and reliable service from GPR, and that is with four or five large-ish orders per year. Like mjet260 I don't like the new postage regime, but the goods arrive in this country within three days (then the Customs people take another week to process it).

Re: guitar parts resource
it is a bit of a gamble using GPR. half of the times i've ordered from them the items arrived very quickly and everything was in order. other times they have taken very long time, but other than that no problems. then there are the times when they get something wrong in the order... months without a reply to several polite and friendly emails, instant response after threatening to bad mouth them online.

I've ordered from them a few times and never had a problem. I guess it's all luck of the draw. If you are looking for offset parts, Angela Instruments always has a lot of stuff in stock and they are quick and reliable. The only problem is that they have a minimum shipping rate of $10 in the US and even more outside of the US, but if you have a bunch of stuff to get, it's worth it.

Re: guitar parts resource
This is semi-OT, but I had a similar experience with WD Music Products several years ago. I ordered a Strat body, changed my mind, and returned it with the full knowledge I'd have to pay a restocking fee. I emailed them a couple of times a week during the six weeks(!) after I knew my order had been returned to ask where my refund was. I was very polite the entire time, and they never responded to my emails.mynameisjonas wrote: months without a reply to several polite and friendly emails, instant response after threatening to bad mouth them online.
At the end of the six weeks I'd finally had enough and threatened to "out" them on the Fender Discussion Page, and they were a lot more responsive after that. They did call and leave a message on my answering machine to tell me that they'd tried to reply to my emails but they kept getting bounced back. (According to them; I'd had that same email addy for four years at that point, so I knew that was a lie.) They also said they'd mailed my refund the week before, but when the check arrived it was postmarked the day after I'd sent my hostile email. They still charged the restocking fee, too, which really pissed me off given that it had taken them so damned long to refund my money.
In fairness, they offered a discount off my next order (yeah, right, like I was gonna give them any money after the bullshit they pulled) but my one experience with them was so bad I've never ordered anything else from them and likely never will.

Dazbootman is good - he knows his stuff (ie he knows that there's a difference between MIJ and MIA guitars) and his work is very professional. I'm getting ready to order a few items from him as well (he'll do direct orders in addition to his ebay listings).

Re: guitar parts resource
Dazbootman doesn't have the full range of pickguard materials, but does have several. One time I wrote to him asking if I could have some material sent to him (I was going to get a sheet of Warmoth's parchment material, which is a softer, slightly aged white but not anywhere near mint green) and he made me a pretty fair offer to cut it and ship it on. I ended up changing gears on the project but bear this in mind if you've got your own source of pickguard material that you just want cut.
I think he probably gets his raw materials from AllParts as he said that his mint green was greener than Fender's.
