I'm still planning on building that Sonic VI body for you once I get my blanks made, so that's one neck down.

This is an ever-evolving build, so a few updates are in order.

First, I've opted to make all three pickups individually selectable. As such, a Jaguar switch plate will be added to the mix. The 3-way switch shown will either be deleted, or used to control some as-of-yet unspecified SPECIAL FEATURE.

Also, after careful consideration, I have decided that neither "The WONKYMASTER" (Andrew's pet name) nor the "METAPHOR V-6" (my original idea) really captures the essence of this rare beast. I want a name that really speaks to the twisted nature of this bad girl. Introducing "the MONGOOSE!"

I have the neck and bridge both mounted right now, but no strings to test it. After work today I'm going to best buy or target to get some (their strings suck, but they're open late and are nearby)... Test string video tonight or tomorrow (or saturday).

This thing needs a really wonky trem to fully complete the vibe. My first 2 thoughts were the bronco trem or that bizzare top-loading trem that Strats had in 1984 (the weird year where there was no rear routing and the output jack was on the pickguard)

I just sat and cut a mock pickguard from some very thin plastic, totally confident that I knew the shape, and didn't bother to refer to the pics. After checking mine to the pics, I see that my top line is booty. I was just trying to see what I could see, but when I go to make the for-reals pickguard I'm going to make it just PERFECT. I think I'm about to sit on photoshop for a while and see what works... I mean, because of the bridge placement on this, I can't use the exact pickguard design as the original. There are a few areas (like near the control plate) that don't flow as well with a Toronade bridge thrown in the mix...

Oh well, this only took me 5 minutes.

I can see it getting there. Is it possible to pull the control plate toward the bridge and pickup a bit? If so, trimming that upper line back a bit on the bridge end could be made to have a nice flow that's more sympathetic to the body line.

Very cool build btw...you'll get it sorted out.
Perhaps it's just the way the light falls...but everything looks like a target to me.
And I don't know where the gun is...but I'm certain that it's pointed at me.

I don't really ever use trems, so I'm not bothering here. My plan is to use a P-bass bridge cover and pickup cover (totally ornamental) behind the Toronado bridge- echoing the chrome bits from the original inspiration (BASS V). It looks so good already though, I may have some decisions to make after the finish goes on.
