I think I'm about to sit on photoshop for a while and see what works... I mean, because of the bridge placement on this, I can't use the exact pickguard design as the original. There are a few areas (like near the control plate) that don't flow as well with a Toronade bridge thrown in the mix...
By all means, Andrew- see what you can come up with that echoes the original; but works better with out hardware choices. I'm totally open to your ideas.

BTW- The body is looking gorgeous! :-*

As a bizarre (and expensive!) suggestion- a Rick (or Lollar copy) horseshoe pickup mounted behind the bridge, with its own onboard preamp and controls? Or even its own effects?

You and Andrew should don lab coats and get a research grant from the US government! ;)

Could be worth all the paperwork if it meant we could add those Tesla coils! :w00t:

Haha. Andrew and I have become a bit of a toxic twosome. I look forward to doing the work, Goose!
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

I know the bottom line of the pickguard/plate doesn't flow perfectly with the body, but in order to put the plate in a spot that DID flow, it would overlap the bridge (which, obviously, has no room to be moved anywhere, if you want the guitar to play right). I feel good.

Looking really good. Is that a second input jack?

Overall the look isn't really my thing, but definitely a cool idea.

Also, that body looks extremely comfortable!

The first time I saw this design, I thought I would vomit. but now, I realized that I kind of like it... and I kind of want one of my own!
