Amazing, now THAT is something I would be very interested in. Do you mean offer it up on here? I best get to my fifty posts soon!mongoose69 wrote:The Teiscos proved to be painfully microphonic, so we passed on those for this project. Paul is still in possession of the Teisco-loaded black guard, and I believe it is his intention to wax-pot the pickups, build a new Jag(?) body and neck, and offer it up as THE TEISCOUAR!knpknpknp wrote:I'm not sure if I just missed the post about this, but what happened to the four gold foils? I have one of these pickups on a frankensteined shortscale and it is a wonderful sounding pickup. I was really looking forward to hearing how four of these would sound!

Yes. Do this!the older brother wrote:You could use a regular Jaguar rythm plate and put an onboard compressor in it....

Are there any passive compressors? That would be cool. I always love the idea of onboard functions but hate the idea of worrying about 9volts under my pickguard. So much work to replace.

I don't believe such a circuit is possible, unfortunately.knpknpknp wrote:Are there any passive compressors?
I wholeheartedly agree. If only...knpknpknp wrote:I always love the idea of onboard functions but hate the idea of worrying about 9volts under my pickguard. So much work to replace.

A friend of mine plays a mutant jazzmaster body turned bass guitar, and he has a giant green arcade button that turns on a pretty good sounding passive fuzz control. It may be a modified fuzz face circuit if I remember correctly, but no guarantees on that.
I quite like that idea personally, even if I rarely use fuzz.

The battery thing would still be an issue. No convenient placement.Janglemaster76 wrote:im no mod-guru but i was seriously thinking about using Guitar Fetish's MOD-board compressor, maybe an option?...actually I might STILL be considering this...

yeah..i did some reading about it and seems like it wouldnt be good for offsets...bummer....i wish there was something really simple, that could hide in a two knob rig, like what the heck is in the Roger Mcguinn Ricky 370?? That might be my research for tonight...

How small is the mod board?
At least its a jaguar, so the metal plates are attached separately. You could always deepen the rout behind the rhythm circuit top part, and put it behind.
Or, if you were really ambitious, just route through the body completely, and do a dorky gibson style back plate to cover it up. Mount the modboard directly to that, and you could yank it out in a hurry to swap the battery.

Fit a 9 volt under the pickup switch plate. Just deepen the hole a bit.
