Kozak built it, Smith did the finish... and now it's on me to do the assembly. Problem is, I'm pretty useless at most things involving
skill.
Holes have to be drilled, parts fitted, and a nut added. I have screws coming (if anybody needs authentic-spec nickel pickguard screws, I'm gonna have them en masse soon), and I'm going to be aging all the metal parts with muriatic acid as soon as the screws arrive. I can't have that wickedly aged/relicked body and 40+year-old neck loaded with shiny new metal, dig?
I ordered a precut bone nut, since I'm really not qualified to do slotting- although I will have to radius the bottom since vintage Fender necks don't have flat-bottomed nuts.
Finally, the wiring will have to be done. Luckily this is one task that I CAN do with some level of confidence/competence.
I'm itching to have this thing together and playing, but I've learned that patience is crucial is such things. My initial impulse was to rush the thing together, but I know I would've regretted it in the end. You can be sure though, that when it IS done; you'll be seeing and hearing it!
