You can do that with a Dano baritone: same scale length as a 6 string bass (30 inches) - the only difference is that you don't have monster bass machine heads, but then neither does the Bass VI. To convert a bari to a VI, all you do is give the truss rod a tweak, put on a set of Bass VI strings, and re-intonate.* Even better, as Dano's have removable aluminium nuts, buy a spare one, and have one filed for six string bass, one for baritone. This convertability is why I bougt a Dano bari, but now I've got it, I enjoy playing it B-B too much to even bother trying to tune it down any further.StevenO wrote: I want an actual dano bass so that I can have something tuned E-E.
