Re: The Silverface Appreciation Thread...Weigh in and Post your pics
I snagged this silverface Vibrolux Reverb off ebay a couple of months ago. It was a pawn shop selling it and I just emailed him and offered him $500. It's not all original or anything but the circuit is untouched except for a few replaced caps(standard with a 30 yr old amp) and hole drilled into the chassis that fitted a master volume that had since been removed. It was a great deal for player grade amp(exactly what I was looking for). It has a few replacement tubes, new Eminence speakers, and someone tried to replace the regular reverb pan with a Peavey spring reverb pan(WTF?). I took it to my amp tech and he fixed me up with a new tube for one that was starting to go south & and an accutronics reverb tank and it ran me $70.

I've got a mint mid 70's Musicmaster Bass amp, complete with the cover. All original, bar the change to 240v (I'm in the UK).

Here's my '71 Vibrochamp. I've recently replaced the filter caps, other electrolytics, tubes (Tung-Sol reissues, NOS Sylvania rectifier), and power cord. Love it, love it, love it. I've got 12AX7s in it pending the arrival of proper NOS 12AX7As. The 12AX7s sure do sound good burning up though.

Bigger in sum than parts.

By the way, welcome back, Mewithoutus! I know you've been on a bit lately, but I feel a proper welcome is appropriate.

I have a '79 Champ and I just won this "Blackface" Champ from 1981. Fender reverted to a Blackface panel in 1981/1982 on their amps just before the Rivera designs started, but apparently it's the exact same circuit as a Silverface.

hey! I've found a bassman 10 for 600€ here, it's modded with 2 celestion 12" but in the price is included the original 4 10"..I think it could be good, since I want a bassman but I don't like 10"s and I still can sell them later..
PLZ tell me if it's a good deal, it could go away soon I think..
