I won't bother posting my picture, b/c I have exactly that, even down to the pickguard My Duo Sonic is technically not offset and those are my Squiers.

EDIT: er, ok. So I ended up posting a pic of them anyway to answer a comment heh :)

The Jazzmaster on the right is a 93/94 MIJ. So there is an example of 20 years on an Olympic White. Obviously, the 2 Squiers make up the rest of the shot.

if you're having bridge issues, check out the setup guide at http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/cms/the-goodies. i followed that and i don't have any problems with the stock bridge (also it should be noted that JM/Jags tend to work better in general with heavier strings, like .11's or .12's.)

as for electronics, i swapped out the stock 1Meg pots with Bourns 500k audio tapers, which i like better. they take off that icepick-y high end, but they're still plenty bright. i tried a .022uF and .047uF cap, and decided to stick with the factory .033uF value. i also upgraded the switch to a Switchcraft L-type, and a Switchcraft jack. the factory ones worked fine, but i replaced the switch with a Switchcraft "just because" and the jack was just a last minute impulse buy since it was only an extra $1.75 or so. i got these particular parts from AmplifiedParts, who had great prices on them.

at some point i'll probably replace the wiring with better/thicker stuff. the factory wiring in mine works fine, but there's an annoying amount of redundant ground wires that i want to get rid of to tidy things up. plus, good wire is cheap, so it's another one of those "meh, i might as well" type of projects . i'll be keeping the rhythm circuit factory though.

lastly i want to replace the bridge pickup. i'm not a big fan of overwound pups, and at 12k-13k the VMJM bridge pup is just too hot for my liking. i mean, it's not terrible or anything, i just prefer something a little more vintage-correct. i'm getting along with it okay for now, but i'll probably end up swapping it out for either an AVRI or Duncan Antiquity II pup in the next couple of months.

oh yeah, one last thing: i added a treble bleed mod to my volume pot so my tone wouldn't go muddy when i roll the volume back. i use the Kinman version of this mod, which is a .001uF cap in series with a 130k resistor. i ended up having to use a 220k resistor because that's the closest Radio Shack had in stock, but it still works great (and i've heard that it should work properly as long as the resistor is between about 50% to 100% of the pot value. in other words, any resistor up to 500k would've theoretically work just fine in my case.) i also tried it with the more standard cap-and-resistor-in-parallel type that Seymour Duncan recommends, but i didn't like what it did to the taper of the pot as i turned the volume down.

treble bleed mods are one of those personal things that some people like and others really hate. i've always liked them, but they're totally optional and they only have an effect when you start turning the guitar's volume down. if you always leave the volume on 10, they don't make any difference.

WHY has no one said anything about that frankenbeast on the left? So cool. Is that a Jag pickup in the middle, or some kind of strat single coil?

Edit: Also, has one of the roller pots in the rhythm circuit on the Jag been removed?

Yup! It has 2 Seymour Duncan hot JM pickups and a Seymour Duncan hot Jag pickup in the middle. The tone knob is push/pull and it will engage/disengage the jag pickup.

The jag has been fully modified to the Johnny Marr switching system (plates from stereordinary).

Both of these are up for sale currently. Not soliciting on this thread, I know the rules

Looks great! My cousin did pretty much the same to his surf green vm jag, but he also sort of converted it into a johnny marr jag.

I got this neck off ebay for my first guitar (partscaster) mainly because it was just as much as an unfinished mighty mite neck and it came with tuners. It turned out to fit my hand perfectly and now it will never leave my number one guitar (although the body will undoubtedly change haha).

I like the maple actually. I had an american special tele that had a similar neck, and it was my favorite thing about that guitar. Looks good!
