Thanks to this thread I just remembered that I have a Beano Boost but it's been at a friend's house for the past 4-5 years. I should get that back.

It's pretty good but the one my buddy Chris at www.Blackcatguitar.com made me is better. The AM BB has some cheap parts in it from what I remember... other than the military grade transistor.

Justin, I still have your Kraken pedal. That thing is badass.

That’s awesome Mike!! I’m glad that you still like it! It really is a unique sound. I aimed to make it really balanced throughout the frequency spectrum. I’ve run out of transistors by now though :'( I think I made about 60 of them.

:fp: I can't imagine anyone needing 4 of those who WOULDN'T be scalping them. I mean honestly -- if you really needed 4 right now I'm willing to bet you can afford the inflated resale price because your boss is John Mayer or something.
I don't mean limiting to 4 at once but 4 ever or over time.

I'd order one and a few years later, sell it, miss it and get back on the list for another. There are people who put their name on the list once a month or so, so that their names keep popping up, one a month to buy another to scalp them.
It says on his website that you can only get on the list once at a time..

Please use this link ONLY to get on the list. If the link does not work for you just send an email to analogspam at aol.com.
If you already emailed and have not reached the top, any more emails to Analogspam will be deleted. You can get on the list again AFTER you reach the top and get your pedal, but not before then.
That's updated policy since I last looked then, I haven't looked since I got my last KoT.

Talking about Analogman, here's a photo from yesterday's jam, where fellow forum member CS was Team Analogman! :D

That's one of the best boards I have assembled. The beano boost comes alive in a band setting.

Next February I'll have an analogman pedal, a mini compROSSor with attack knob and ryck switch. I have it on hand now, but it's a birthday present that a friend from the US brought over so I can't play it until the birthday it's for.

I have played through a mini chorus. Just wasn't a fan of how the vibrato and dry sounds sat together - they felt separate, rather than a single swirly soup.

Definitely want to get a Sun Face in the future. Hard to know what transistors to go for, might need a couple...
I'm also on the KoT waitlist but I doubt I'd see one this decade, if ever.

What's that on the bottom right? Some really old KoT variant?

Yep, it is an older version of the KoT. :)

KOT V2 two channel shared drive and tone. It's quite rare. The short lived v3 is rarer. The v4 is the current version.

That is a great board! Fuzz Face, Rangemaster, and an analog delay. There isn’t much else that I REALLY need.

On my Sun Lion, I had them ‘bass tune’ the Beano. It makes it a lot more useful for me. The highest setting still has plenty of high end, but the other two are much closer to full range.

The Beano is such a great pedal...it doesn't like all my guitars for some reason, but the ones it works with it is just awesome! 8)

I bought the beano checked it was working and didn't bother with it until the jam. In a band mix with a non bedroom level amp it is really addictive. I probably used it 80 percent of the time. Second fave was the delay. First time I've used an expression pedal with one. If you just slightly adjust a short delay you get chorus. For longer delays they smear. On my dmm I usually go for 2 repeats. With this one I go mental.

A friend recently gave me an analogman modded Metal Zone (“godzilla mod”). It’s pretty astonishing how useful it is. I almost sounds like the range of all the adjustable parameters are increased, and it’s now an “every kind of distortion” pedal. The tone stack covers twice as much territory as anything else I own.

To read analogman’s documentation, maybe the tone circuitry is all they changed, but it feels to me like it affects the gain circuitry too. I am not an electrician.

I’m eyeing up an analogman tr-2. Has anyone compared the two? It feels like a needless extravagance, but I want one…
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

If it's anything like the Keeley-modded Boss TR-2, it's a great mod. I had a Keeley-modded one, and changing the (tone?) pot to a concentric with a dedicated volume knob was worth it. Fantastic sounding basic tremolo...

I’ve got an AM tr-2, but don’t have an un-modded one to compare.

It’s very nice pedal; it does what a trem should do, with low background noise. And it looks awesome because it’s Boss with an AM stamp!

If you’re in need of a tremolo, this is a good option. If you already have one that you’re happy with, this is unlikely to blow you away.
