I've not seen that Performer before, but it might be my favourite guitar in this thread. I love the finish.
I always loved the look of Perfomers and Katanas.

Re: JUST ONE CORRNEETTOOOO (Sorry, I mean pickup, just one pickup)
i only have one single pickup guitar and no photos of it to hand. it's my wee short scale randy rhodes v copy i got from my high school where i whacked a super distortion in it. it needs a lot of work to get it playable again but i fucking love it.
i think i've mentioned before but my dream single pickup guitar dates back to a band one of my old bands played with. their guitar player was a firm believer that you only needed a neck pickup at louder volumes. he had 2 musicmaster I and 1 musicmaster II. all of them had 1 pickup each and it was usually a PAF style pickup. i remember thinking "man, i'd love a musicmaster III that's been badly routed for humbuckers then only having a fender WRHB in the neck" and it's an idea i return to every so often. but never found a good candidate for it in my price range.

Thanks! That started out as a really heavy blank with a super ugly heartwood stain. It turned it into a sub 8lb guitar (after a massive swimming pool route) with cool grain though.

Wow! That Jazzmaster looks great! Please elaborate: what model - or if partsmaster what color and what neck is that? Looks a bit like the mystic seafoam… but not quite…
(Also the new Squier Rascal Bass‘ color looks similar on some pics.)

It’s “The Buickmaster” the body was made by formite ‘TheWorkOfFire’ many moons ago. It passed hands most recently from formite ‘Rexter’ to me. There is a thread detailing its previous incarnations, and the original build thread is also buried somewhere in the OSG archives under Motorik Buickmaster. I believe the colour was Sherwood green but it looks very similar to my OTM Jazzmaster.MayTheFuzzBeWithYou wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 12:50 amWow! That Jazzmaster looks great! It’s had numerous different pickup configurations over the years, 3 of them in my ownership (jazzblaster, jazzmaster, and this single pickup style).
I didn’t see the point in having it in the same configuration as my sticker bombed jazzmaster, and I had this Duncan Custom Custom sitting in my parts box. I tried it as a stop gap and ended up loving it so much it’s been one of my go to guitars recently.

I appreciate a good block & binding but if given the choice, it's dot & binding for me, too.garyptaszek wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 1:45 amYeah I know blocks and binding is usually the fav around here but dots and binding is my personal fav
They look great! I love oly white Teles. Makes me want to do a build as a reverse tuxedo to go along with my Squier Custom Esquire.

Just a spot of necromancy to reiterate that one pickup is really all you need.
I’m also trying to find pictures of a guitar I half remember seeing on OSG but not this thread. Single Jazzmaster pickup in the neck in what I’m pretty sure was a belindastang body. Beautiful thing.

How are you getting along with it? I thought it was a fantastic guitar for the moneyF15hface wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 12:05 amJust a spot of necromancy to reiterate that one pickup is really all you need.

Not played it a load recently - been playing a fair chunk of bass - but when it comes out it’s a good time. Definitely looking forward to sticking it in D standard for a few of my bands songs whenever we get around to gigging.JSett wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 12:57 amHow are you getting along with it? My recently acquired 2018 Gordon Smith GS1. Have only really been able to play through my Yamaha THR at home so far but the pickup is delightfully zingy. Unsure how much of that is the guitar itself or the 9s its strung up with, but it's a lot of fun!
