That must be the exact same pickguard I was interested in and got a tip from Mike about. It was listed on CL about two years ago - same specs, same price. Go for it. The pearloid only came first year IIRC!

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Oh wow!! Todd, I hope you get that loaded guard! You won't find another deal like this one!
Now gold with vintage pearloid or black with vintage pearloid... You really can't go wrong!
....will you let me try out that XII when it's done?? Please!?

David, if you want to play the XII, you'll have to come out to my place in Canada! (inside joke)

i bought the guard with pups!
and i found out yesterday that the XII neck was even factory finished!
this project is almost too easy! the most i have to do will be to drill the tuner holes for Klusons!
so maybe i'll go back to Oly and a pearloid guard. i have always liked this look:

wow. im so jealous! my XII project got totally derailed but Ive been watching yours unfold, cant wait to see more. White pearl on Oly would be very 'heavenly'...but I think that Ice Blue one that's been on ebay forever with the pearl guard is still my favorite original example with white pearl....frosty!
the bed ain't made but it's still full of hope
