Gold is looking good on it, too. Tough choice!

I had a very nitro day today. Sprayed some more clear on the body, probably enough for it to be left alone for a while and sanded to a mirror finish in about 4 or so weeks. Unless...

So while waiting between coats on the body, I was spraying amber nitro on an Allparts strat neck (white binding) that I had for two or so years waiting to become a project. I was using one of those Preval units. Tinted the nitro with some amber transtint dye. Then I remembered that I have the sheet of cardboard were I tested the colors. I wondered what would these colors look like if I hit them with a amber coat or two?

What say you wise people of OSG, keepers of all offset knowledge? Spray an coat of tinted clear over the current coat, i.e. push the blue-violet into bit more neutral territory, or leave it as is and not mess with it?

I say leave it as it is. With the addition of the tinted clear it looks like it becomes too dark.

I'd leave it too... You have a real nice shade going... I would, if it were me, use a top coat that yellows with age, just because I like that look once it has aged. But for now I would leave it clear.
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

Hammertime!

You are all right. Don't know what I was thinking. It it was the grey color, I think I might have just gone for it. I think I need another JM body.

Thank you gentleman. I think I should just suck it up, wait the wait, and refrain from doing anything "unreasonable" to call it mildly. Now back to watching the paint dry.

I think you should also look at a white or ivory pearloid pickgaurd. Gold is good too.

Thank you! I have thought about pearloid too. There's a gray pearloid that I think should look good on it. I should take a good frontal photo of the body and photoshop a bunch of pickguard options. By the time lacquer hardens I have enough time to learn photoshop from scratch. :D
