Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I would say that is the price. Fender has dropped the whole msrp pricing and now just states street price. I am actually surprised the sherwood is the same price as the regular Marr. I would thought they would try and cash in on the "limited edition" thing. Also surprised it will be such a small quantity. I think they should have discontinued one of the other colors and made sherwood permanent.mediocreplayer wrote:What *is* the price for buying one of these new? Is it the full $1749? I strongly doubt that. Anyone knows?

Nobody wants to post a spitfire tort with KO, eh? Fine, I'll do it! I bit the bullet.bentonfalls wrote:There's one on Reverb with regular (red?) Tort on a KO. Notttttt really feeling it. Yeah, he's buying my les paul junior VOS off me, and I'm having that. He's coming round with it at 6pm and it's going straight into a rehearsal at 7!JazzmasterJonny wrote:Is that the one on eBay? It looks very cool...love the yellowed look to it. And it's setup the same as Johnny's no.1 jag so it's gonna be special I bet. Give us a review and pics later please?!?badlydrawnbanjo wrote:Yeah, he's buying my les paul junior VOS off me, and I'm having that. Does a Mastery fix the low E slipping off the fretboard problem? I love my Marrguar but not so much that particular problem. I'm ok with the bridge and wondering if I should get a saddle machined to be offset like Johnny Marr's or just get a mastery. Or is there another option?

Man that's stunning! I so want a JM Jag...mywhitenoise wrote:Nobody wants to post a spitfire tort with KO, eh? Fine, I'll do it! I bit the bullet.
Do any of you marr jag owners play Jazzmasters too? I really love my jazzmaster and in the past when I've had jags (CIJ and CIJ 66 B+B) I've always ended up passing them on in favour of my jazzmaster. I'm just worried if I got a marr in the end I'd not like it.

The Staytrem bridge is cheaper than the Mastery and fixes that problem, from my understanding.mastermorya wrote:Does a Mastery fix the low E slipping off the fretboard problem? Isn't the staytrem machined so the slots are off centre? I'm sure the one on the staytrem eBay shop shows this

The slots are centered on the staytrem, it's just the intonation screws that are offset.

There is no duty on any USA or MIM guitar. It is subject to PST and GST, but you can get around that using a personal exemption if you've been in the USA for 48 hours. You could also get someone to bring it back for you if they've been down for 48 hours.Musjagjazz wrote:Musjagjazz wrote:Not for sale in Canada - store I went to contacted the Fender rep for me and said Canada isn't getting any of the Sherwood Green Limited Edition model.
If you happen to live close to the border you could get one shipped to a Fedex or UPS hold centre in the US. I've done this twice recently with no problems.
Did you have to pay a lot of duty?
I didn't pay any tax. I'll pm you the story. It was pretty funny.

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
the exemption is about $800 i believe.
IF you declare your purchase to customs, you have to pay tax on the balance above $800. On a US$1749 guitar, that is CAD1905 today. So PST and GST on $1105= $165.75 here in Quebec. And if you brought back booze with you, it too has exceeded your allowance and you have to pay tax on it.....
Yup, i've done it once or twice on big ticket items NY to QC----
