Mines en route. Had one on layaway pre order, but I saw this come up so jumped at it instead of waiting.

The general consensus in the UK is that mid November is when the main batch arrrives. A few have crept through and there is one in stock at gear4music but I don't want to cancel and pay more...I'd rather wait with Andertons.

I'll be seeing Johnny before it arrives which will no doubt raise how much I want it.

I'm still on the fence about the thin finish but it seems the early white ones are the ones that have aged very quickly.

Drool! :)

Do we have any idea how many of these there are out there, yet? Dave's apparently got (all) four (that they ordered). 50 seems too low; 200 does seem about right from how hard they are to come by. Sounds like it's difficult, but far from impossible. Or?

(Why November? I'm an American, but I spend most of my time in Germany. Won't be stateside until Thanksgiving. Trying to be patient like a big boy.)

I think the UK has a very small batch. I imagine its 200 in total, maybe they will run a few more, but the main reason I pounced was to get something very unique and since this guitar came out in the normal colours (way before I wanted to take guitar more seriously over my bass playing) I've wanted it.

I've seen the Adam Clayton Jazz Bass in the flesh and its a similar green. It is beautiful!

Green is such a cool colour.

Yeah - the word is 200 total and 50 for Europe.

Don't think anyone has a definite number. I was told there was only 60 made from the shop I bought from, but I would have thought closer to 200.

The eta for my preorder in the UK was 3 weeks yesterday, but I've now purchased from the U.S. so hopefully be less than 10 days.

I am just not buying into this 200 or less being made rumor. Fender's website shows all three colors as options and makes no mention of the green being limited edition. Now, we have all heard this will be limited and I don't doubt that it might be true, but just 200? No way, I don't see it. I believe there will be subsequent batches made until the demand dies down and then Fender will discontinue the color. It also doesn't appear that Fender has put any documentation with the guitar that it is a limited run instrument, nor is there a limited edition neckplate. If Fender has already sold 200 of these things before the vast majority have even been seen, it just makes no business sense to stop just yet. Just trying to offer hope to those who are having a hard time getting one, I have no inside knowledge or true facts to back this up!

I agree with gutter rock. The fact that it's just listed on their website as one of the standard colours makes no sense if it's a one-off thing.

When I missed out on buying one from the U.S. before I got my order in somewhere else, the shop tried to get another off Fender but were told there would be no more. Now we know what fender can be like, so you can decide what this means.

Last week both Wunjo and Regent Sounds on Denmark Street, London, had one. Neither thought they'd get any more.

It's a happy Monday for once!

Image

I'd already made up my mind that I was going to remove the headstock signature so I got that sorted right off (it came off easily and cleanly with just a bit of scratching, for any curious). Johnny's my favorite musician by miles and a major inspirational figure in my life in general, but that decal was just a bit overstated for my tastes. The price of this guitar was tribute enough for me =]

And on that note, though I've only had it for a few hours, it's looking to have been worth every cent. It sounds great and feels even better. The finish is really something, too. It's definitely very interactive with the light, fluctuating between darker and lighter greens, with a subtle bluish tint occasionally creeping into the mix as well. Seems like it might photograph a little differently for everyone.

After I tuned it up it was holding a great setup. Intonation was on point, action was good. No hassles.

And in case any are wondering, this is one of the USA-bound jags. Specifically it was one of the five from Chicago Music Exchange from back when they were first officially announced.

All in all it's definitely made my day and then some. Pre-emptive congrats to others who have one of these coming their way!

Beautiful!! However, looking at your E strings I would say a real Staytrem bridge is in order. Johnny has blank saddles on all of his personal Jags which are notched off-center to bring the string spacing in. I would also highly recommend the polished stainless switch tip that Staytrem sells, it feels nice and cool to the touch and is a big upgrade over the chromed plastic one. Enjoy your new Jag!

Yeah. That pic was taken at a slight angle so the E strings look just a bit more off-kilter than they actually are, but they are still less-than-ideally placed imo. Forgot to mention in my post that I already have an order placed for a Staytrem bridge so I'm just waiting for it to arrive before dropping it in. I'll look into the switch tip -- thanks for the heads up!

No problem! I don't know if he offers them on his site but he has them on ebay here. I had one on my Marr Jag, and it was so cool I ordered a second one in case I ever have another tele.
