Put the All Parts Maple strat neck on the Jazzmaster (pics to follow)

Well, I did it. Had to fill the original holes on the All Parts neck (as the ones drilled it where totally wrong for a JM) And fitted it to my SB Jazzmaster (CIJ Body)
I have to say I really like it. It's a 7.25 readius neck, Maple (obviously) 21 fret (same size as on the MIJ/CIJ necks) and has the small "Strat" headstock. Neck is befier then the JM neck it replaced ('96 MIJ)
Now I understand what you mean when you say "rolled edges". This neck lacks them a bit imo, but luckily not that bad. JM sounds more alive for some reason (when played acousticly)
And the feel of the neck is superb, a bit like a vintage neck (previous owner just put some amber colour on it and finished it of with Shellack and sanded it)
I Think the maple used by All parts is really good, the grain is different from my MIJ/CIJ necks. Feels denser. Although no tree is the same. So perhaps I just got lucky. Anyway it seams to really be up to 60ties specs.
The "Kluson-Deluxe" tuners that came with it are indeed so-so. Not nearly as good as the CIJ tuners I have. No comparising with the Gotoh's at all. The Kluson Deluxe just feel cheap. Guitar stays in tune, no problem there, but they will be raplaced. Thing is that the ferule size is actually smaller, so regular CIJ tuners do not fit, nor will Gotoh's.
But I do not complain. I paid 60 Euro's for this neck and it included those tuners. So it was a good deal. (Can't even find a used Squer neck for that amount here)

My first idea was just to test drive this neck on the JM, but I guess it will stay. The Hagström will have to go with the MIJ JM neck. The difference in sound between my JM's has now improved to that I really like 'em both. So that is a good thing.

Pics will follow. Can't upload them now due to PC difficulties, sorry.
Thanks to all that
