Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the logistics involved in removing the Tone knobs/pots from my Squier strat. I never use them so I was thinking of just taking them out if it wasn't too much hassle.
Thanks in advance.

As for the knobs, just prise em off, but be careful not to go too hard - you'll ding your pickguard. The pots are split-shaft and have milled edges, so the knobs just press on.
The pots themselves - well, that's more of a job. you'll need to take your whole pickguard off and unscrew the little nuts holding the pots onto it. You'll need a small spanner or socket set to do that. I can't remember the sizes exactly, but any standard set of spanners (or better yet, an adjustable spanner) will do the job.

Really easy! you wont even have to reconnect any wires. You just have to cut a couple.
Are you putting anything in their place? I always thought it'd be cool to have a volume pot for each pickup on a strat.

Well I was thinking of moving the volume pot down one because it kept getting in my way. Other than that i'm not sure, i stuck a humbucker in the bridge position a while back, I could set up a different volume for that and the two single coils I suppose.
