Hot Pink Jazzmaster build *Disaster Strikes*
Might not be everybody's cup of tea but I decided I wanted to have a guitar with high tension heavy strings for alternate tuning stuff without have to recut the nut of my current favourite.
So the checklist was :
1 - A worn and comfy rosewood neck with a vintage radius, small frets.
2 - Convince someone to paint me the pinkest Jazzmaster body in the universe
3 - Get pink parts and others ( I'll post them in the progress updates when they arrive)
4 - Did I mention Pink ?
Ok so here we are so far :
And ...
Didn't repaint the headstock as I always found that a bit corny ... that being said ... I am making a really pink Jazzmaster ...
With a twist ...
Stay tuned !
Ok so I decided to go with the Fender 65 Vintage Pickups and got them off Amazon ... Was surprised by the flimsiness of the covers but meh ... not my first rodeo. I started with the screws to adjust the height aaaaaandd ....
Thank you Fender for going to the lowest bidder with those ... what a way to start an afternoon F&(K My life ...

Just chiming in here to say this is a strong artistic decision you made and I love the hell out of it.

Hey thanks a bunch, there's actually a twist to it which is why I haven't shown the front of it yet ... Let's just say that you won't have ever seen this color combination, except in one 'conceptual' drawing out there which I'll post at the end of the build !blunderbuss wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 3:56 pmJust chiming in here to say this is a strong artistic decision you made and I love the hell out of it.

As a fellow hot pink Jazzmaster owner I heartily endorse this project.

I have a sparkle pink baritone Jazzmaster and I approve; although I would have painted the headstock, you do you.

Well, no one is going to grab your guitar by mistake, that’s for sure.
Love it though! I can go for just about anything that isn’t a traditional sunburst build and I applaud your artistic direction here - bold and unique - well done!

Thanks a bunch for the kind words, also love sunburst but somehow a Jazzmaster feels to me like something that needs it's own shtick !Norrin Radd wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 4:45 amWell, no one is going to grab your guitar by mistake, that’s for sure.

bummer, but you're so very lucky you have screw shaft left to grab onto. one broke flush with my jaguar when installing the mute. i had to use an extractor bit to carve a 1/4" hole out of the body and refill with a plug of alder.stratoclutter wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 2:59 pm

good color pink. the photos make it look dark and almost coral-ish. can't wait to see the finished job.
