Just finished this one. J Mascis body, Fender player neck. Mojotone quietcoil Hot P90 under jazzmaster pickup cover. The lack of a neck pickup really encourages me to use the tone control and getting different sounds has become more intuitive than switching back and forth...

Nice job.
I'd planned something similar with my Jaguar, but I decided I liked the neck pickup too much to lose it. I have got a Les Paul Junior, so I know exactly what you mean about using the tone (and volume) controls, not to mention how you play to get different sounds.
