Re: Jazzmaster Pickup Swap
I Feel like the Ultra’s whole point is it’s electronics, right? So I’d say if anything put it on the JMJM and leave the Ultra alone

Re: Jazzmaster Pickup Swap
I'm curious about trying the Noiseless with traditional wiring (500k pots). I don't use serial/parallel mode, preferring the usual Lead/Rhythm switch.
Obviously in Ultra body and neck.
Has anyone ever done this?

Re: JMJM, JM Ultra, JM TVL Jazzmaster Pickup Cross Swap
Thanks for suggestions.
TVL original harness has two shielding copper plates soldered as ground under pickups.
So you must have the correct routing, with a contoured side and a straight side
JM Ultra is routed for two regular JM covers, with two contoured side per each.
JMJM is routed perfect for TVL harness (same CNC schema?), then I decided to swap JMJM pickguard, shield the body cavity with copper tape and install TVL harness + PV65 on Squier.
A good improvement.
bye

Re: JMJM, JM Ultra, JM TVL Jazzmaster Pickup Cross Swap
At now, I've sold the JMJM.
With some works, the TVL harness and the PV65 couple -in a cream pickguard- are in the Ultra. A sort of UltraVintage.
Pros:
Vintage sound
Modern usabilility
two complete preloaded pickguard, the Ultra Original and the "Vintage", just a 5 minutes swap
Cons:
Less versatile (ok for me)
Mods:
Some works to adapt an American Professional II compatible pickguard
New pickups spacer foam
Complete grounding with copper tape
Modified shape in bridge copper plate
Replaced TVL toggle switch with a regular JM slide switch
Perfect combination of two world, but not really an upgrade, now it's not better than original Ultra, just Vintage voiced
