Custom HH Fiesta Jaguar Finished Pg. 1

Post by HNB » Wed Nov 13, 2024 8:39 am

Did a detour and swapped this white body for a fiesta one I had. The white guard just clashed with the aged white body too much. The red accent line looks good with the fiesta body.

Can’t wait to see how this develops.

Sounds interesting. While I have never been a fan of the artists John 5 has played for, his signature Teles have been some of my favorite models, that white one included.

I routed the body for humbuckers today. Went really well!

Neck came in. This one is getting the Jag headstock. They are Warmoth necks. :) I applied Stewmac Vintage Amber dye mixed with IPA. Later today I will add some maple stain to the necks to darken them a bit.

Started adding clear. I ordered tuners, pickups, plates, pots, switches, and bridge. Should have everything I need to finish it up once that stuff comes in.

Got the bridge, tremolo, and strap buttons installed. Waiting on plates and pickups to get more done. :)

Some more parts arrived today just a little bit ago. I am leaving the upper plate empty and I am also only putting in the two pickup switches in the switch plate. Kind of doing a stripped down to just what I would actually use for this one.

Got pickups installed and wiring done. This is pretty fun really. Empty upper circuit and only the pickup switches in the lower plate. Down is on instead of traditional up. Regular volume and tone pots. To get the action nice and low, I had to use two one degree shims together. It is great! Pickups sound really good!
