geeezzz  kids must be more mature these days ... when I was 13 I was too busy trying to decide what paint scheme to paint my plastic model spitfire......    plus we lived in shoe-box-on-road.

cheap places to buy offsets  ???
Pawn shops  (that is P A W N Shops, not the other type  .... you can go there when you're a couple of footy sessions older),
ebay,
local online places:  graigslist in USA,  tradingpost in australia etc
local ma and pa guitar shops
blems from big guitar chains

in the end there is no place ( no nirvana ) which we can point you to that had cheap offsets specially for 13 year old with very little $$$.  It is just a fact of life.
================

this does remind me though of a  website I fell across about 12 months ago.  It was in south america somewhere , brazil, maybe argentina.  They sold "Stolen electrical gear"  Wide screen plazma TVs, stereo systems, DVD 5.1 systems, cameras , high level recording equipment.  What the scam was, was that you the buyer selected what you wanted or even told them what you wanted, then you paid something like 30 or 40% of the retail price to them  (via a paypal account !!!!!!!!) then these people using stolen credit card nos. ordered these items over the internet and then 4 weeks later the item would arrive at your door step.

obviously I didn't use them,.... but certainly an interesting concept in the area of  on line fraud.
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

yes they are. they will go up in price. The japanese reissues are also good guitars. For $700, its one of the better new ones for that price on the market. Vintage ones can cost as little as $900 in vintage shops.  I dont know if you want new or old, but the new ones are great. Played one a few days ago.

these are the new ones

I currently own 3 mustangs, (one of which I made yesterday) a jaguar, a jazzmaster, jag-stang, a MIM duo sonic and other various guitars...the mustang is by far my favorite.

The Fender Japan Import Mustangs are actually £80 more expensive than the black colour Jags and Jazzes

Does Fender UK import black Jags and Jazzes? Nice. Try looking on eBay, the cheapest you'll find are used Japanese Mustangs, I think.

look for the older japenese models.... cheaper and with a couple of updates, sound just as good as the American counterparts.
