Those are great.
Reminds me of some of the old Kay solidbodies too...

Oh wow, are those adjustable bridges I see?
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

Yeah, they are. Jerry Jones started using them a while ago, so I figure Dano is trying to compete. I like the looks of the original bridge/ tailpieces better, but being able to more accurately intonate them and fine tune string height would be nice. The only think I don't particularly like about them is the headstock shape. I like the symmetrical Coke bottle design better. I like matching haedstocks more also. They are pretty cool guitars for the price though. I wouldn't mind trying one out if I have a chance to.

The website claims that they'll be sold through a limited network of dealers - anyone know where I can get one?

GuitarCrazy.com usually gets the limited stuff from Dano. I've bought a bunch of stuff from there over the years. The owner is a cool guy. His name is Bob. (just to be clear, this is Guitar Crazy USA... there is a store of the same name which I believe is in Australia)

There is indeed, in Sydney. I bought my Rick 330/12 from them sometime last decade.

I love Danos. I have a U2 RI which I bought in about '98 - absolute piece of crap in many ways*, but I love it. I have it tuned C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C, and it sounds nasty through my RAT.
Way 1: on a day-to-day basis, it's pretty much un-setup-able. Very little you can do to the string height without truss rod adjustment.
Way 2: it's made of plastic. Well, not really, but it looks and sounds like it.
Way 3: the pups are very low output and sound tinny.
You get the idea. But it doesn't sound like any other guitar, and that makes it cool.

I like how "red" is a lot more like what I would call "pink."
