I have a Jaguar again!

I picked it up and just got it home....here's a pic of it...I'll post better pics of it if we get some decent sunlight....



according the serial number it was made between 1994 and 1995....it feels good to play...it's a tad on the heavy side though, which I'm not too keen on....

the pickguard....is...HORRIBLE...my god...I'm totally obsessed with 60s pre-cbs tortoise shell, and this pckguard must a be a joke...looks like ketchup patterns!

the frets...well...they are kinda crammed on the shortscale neck...it's not too much of a problem, but I find the jazzmaster neck to be way more comfortable to play...keep in mind though that I got pretty big hands.

so, is it a keeper?

time will tell....I dunno...I can't see it threatening the position of my #1 Jazzmaster.

all in all, it's a great little guitar that I was lucky to score for little money, so I have no real complaints...it joins the LeCain guitar arsenal, next to a couple of vintage Jazzmasters and...errr...a $trat

Nice... other than the ketchup tortoise.
It would look cool with a black pickguard in my opinion (wouldnt be very "vintage" looking but whatever).....

I'll keep it for as long as possible....eventually, I'll need to pay for the '61 Jazzmaster neck I need, so I'll flip the Jag for £££...till then though, it stays

Looks nice, Zhiv, I like the Oly White w/ chrome od (although the tortoise plate is a bit lame indeed).

My hands are quite big too and before I got my Jag I played Epiphone semis, so the Jag neck felt quite cramped. I loved the sound and played a lot and within a week or so I'd got used to it and I felt completely at home. With my Epis it feels like there's a huge gap between each string now, although I still like to play those too.

Maybe this will make a nice spare or a good second sound for recording. Or, maybe you'll get hooked to the Jag too which will open a whole new episode of vintage projects
