Email from Del Casher regarding his MODIFIED JAGUAR.

After seeing a  photo of Del Casher from an early 60's Fender Teen Fair (here on the Offset Site), I emailed him about the "box" that was attached to his Jaguar, and had wires leading from it. He mentions "Les"...that's Les Paul. They were both guitar electronics wizards and friends, and I mentioned Les' echo in my email to Del.
Here is his response. I don't know how to copy pics here, so maybe someone can do it for me.

Hi Johnny,
Glad you noticed my mod on the Fender. I was good friend with  Leo Fender and always asked for  guitars to modify. He actually helped re-wired my Strat with a hotter front pickup, one of a kind.
The box on my guitar controled a set of swithes that controlled relays that activated my Ecco-Fonic as well as activating my per-recorded BG guitar tapes from a tape deck off stage. Les needed a guy off stage to flip over the tape for his echo delay, but mine  was a continous tape that traveled around a fly wheel with no flutter.
The BG deck was controlled from my guitar.
