No, why? Just because he plays the same axe, it doesn't mean that I really might be associated with him. It's the music that counts. I don't know how many artists I hate play a Jazzmaster or a Strat and I don't care.
I like that thing in a optical way and look forward to something with 2 HB's, thats it!

If you want a Tele with 'buckers, buy a 72 Deluxe RI.  To me, that guitar looks cheap, and the pickups without covers look silly.  IMO, of course. ;)

I think if it had the standard Tele style ashtray bridge it would look way cooler.  That might even be a possible retrofit, but I'm not sure.  Oh and chrome pickup covers would really complete it.  Of course, that' all just looks.  I've never played one, but American Fenders are good guitars.
