Jazzmaster humbucker covers??

Post by Lowendless » Sun Feb 09, 2014 5:48 pm

I've had a humbucker in my pawnshop vi for months, without a plush cover or custom guard.

Looking to get an aged white jazzmaster pickup cover with humbucker positioned holes, I don't care if it's 12 or 6 holed.

Thanks!

I got mine with my rose picasso pickups in the mail.

e-mail Ken at rose pickups he might help you http://www.rosepickups.com/contactus.htm
he's a great guy and also a member here.
I think mojotone sells JM covers without holes and you can drill them yourself how you want (with 6 or 12 poles exposed)

also e-bay seller raulicruz48 has them in white and no holes.

I did a pretty hack job but I put a bucker in the bridge of my jazzy. It's in a jazzmaster pickup cover that I carved out to work as a pickup ring. I can post a pic when I get home later today. It works awesome!

please do! are you talking about a regular sized hb? did you need to route the body to accomodate it? if not, did you alter the hb in any way?

It started life as a blacktop JM. I decided that I wanted two jazzy pups so I routed it to fit a JM pup in the bridge. Then I just started doing other projects so I never ended up buying the new pups. I eventually I thought meh I'll just put the bucker in again. I just used an exact knife to carve the hole out and drilled a hold for the adjustment screws. So that's how it's been for the past several months. I doubt you would need to do any routing to get a bucker into a standard JM route. I'd guess you might just need to chop the adjustment screws down at most but can't say for sure as this is the only JM I've owned. Hopefully I answered all your questions!
