I'm looking for another mostly clean boost, stumbled across this guy the other night and was intrigued as both the SHO and the Super Duper were high on the list of candidates.
Anybody tried one of these? From the description it sounds like a cheaper, micro form factored SHO w/ a volume control and 5Meg input impedance. Does the crazy high impedance make it useless anywhere but the front of the chain w/ low output pickups?

Re: ZVex Channel 2?
I have not tried the Channel 2 on it's own, I do own a ZVex Super Duper. I like to use the Channel 2 side as my base guitar tone to control the volume with the gain set just high enough to get a small amount of sparkle and crunch. Then I hit my channel 1 side with the gain set very high and I get my high gain sound that way. I could see how a stand alone Channel 2 would be very useful to someone who wanted to use a different pedal for their overdrive/distortion. I LOVE my Super Duper and just use my amp tone knobs to get the sound I want. I'd say go for the channel 2 if you want to use a different, higher gain pedal as your main OD/Dist. Good luck. Let us know what you get!

Re: ZVex Channel 2?
So doing a little more reading it sounds like both the SHO and Super Duper both have 5M input impedance as well? I didn't realize that. Do you guys have any issues running those later in signal chain? I've been running my boost as the last thing before hitting the pre section of the amp and dialing it based on how hard I want to beat on the amp.
The master volume on the Channel 2 and Super Duper seems like it would be really useful letting me dial in the degree of transistor crunch I want in this stage (if any) and the degree of amp overdrive. I'm currently using an EP Boost and basically can't get into the gritty drive part of it's range w/o the volume output getting too high for my DRRI. I think the only advantages of the SHO for me would be the two outputs, the lower cost compared to the Super Duper, and I like the axe wielding gorilla paint job
It seems like I might run into the same issues w/ it as I have w/ the EP Boost though.

Re: ZVex Channel 2?
I will say that I am glad I ended up with the Super Duper. I was initially looking only at the SHO. The Master volume on the SD has been a life saver for the above reasons you mentioned. The pedal is LOUD! As it is my only gain pedal on my board, it would probably be too loud to get the drive I want if I did not have the master volume control. My settings, for reference are in the picture below. I keep the red side on all the time and boost/overdrive with the yellow.
