A new idea for a Tele/Jazzmaster design...Bigsby Tele bridge plate w/JM trem!
Check this thing out...
I just thought about this today...A Bigsby Tele bridge plate so one would be able to keep the JM trem, while installing a Tele bridge pickup. Also, the metal surrounding the pickup makes it sound more Tele-like. I put a Jag control plate and a Tele-esque finish on it to give it a Tele vibe. I really like this, and I'd love to build one! A Tele neck pickup would work, too...
As an Esquire....
With a more Tele looking pickguard...

It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

I like it, but I think it would be cooler to use a standard Tele bridge plate. For one, I think they look cooler. And for two, you could choose which strings to anchor on the trem and have some anchored through the body, for some B-bender action!

Eh, that picture doesn't do it for me. Maybe if I saw it in real life my opinion would be reversed.

It's closer, but it still looks bitty.

that tele-esque pickguard actually works pretty well in a way i never expected. cool idea if you were going to do a jazz/jag without the rhythm circuit.
oh...i have to try this out now...come up with some crazy combinations and use for some crazy noise rock.stereordinary wrote: And for two, you could choose which strings to anchor on the trem and have some anchored through the body, for some B-bender action!

Zombie thread! I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this, but I wonder how this would look with the alternately shaped Mastery bridge:RumorsOFsurF wrote:
I keep thinking that this pickup configuration with either a JM or Bigsby tremolo would be my perfect baritone. Imagine this on a Firebird?!?

I built a plate like that for a members tele/jm mashup a while ago, not too difficult to make in aluminum.
