After looking at the Sidejack Deluxe XII, I don't think Fender has any excuse not to put a locking Floating Tremolo on any possible Electrix XII reissue.

Not commented on this for a while but judging the kookie designs Fender is releasing in 2018 the possibility is looking good. The Squier Bass VI has been pretty successful and I'm sure it sold a lot more than forecasted.

One thing that has just occurred to me is... has anyone forwarded this discussion to Fender?

After all these years, I really feel like this is a lost cause. I hate to say this, but it really comes down to the cost of the custom bridge and pickups. They'd have to sell way more than the VM Basss VI to be profitable because that instrument required zero custom parts. That sold really well and still wasn't considered a huge success by most industry people I have spoken to. I'd be happy with a custom shop XII but even that has not happened and likely won't. Make no mistake; I think this would be a nice moderate success but convincing Fender with the custom part list is very unlikely at this point.

They'd surely not put "correct" pickups in it, but Strat ones or Humbuckers instead...

well considering revelation have 12 string jazzmaster shaped guitars out in the $500-$600 price range it's totally doable for squier to do something in that price range, and judging how the revelation bass vi compares to the squier bass vi i think squier could do it better

oh yeah! I forgot about Revelation. I kind of forgot about them when I couldn't find them on eBay nor reverb for a while. They had some cool colors and pickguard combos.
