Squier 51's... show yours!
Just modded my Squier 51 again.
Drilled and fitted a string through bridge, then chucked a SD JB in there.
Setup in E flat with 11-56 D'Addarios... playing a bunch of KISS tunes
Any you guys got any/seen any cool Squier 51s?

I sold mine recently, but here's what she looked like:

Extremely cool. Is the vibrato one of the cheap GFS ones? If so, how well does it work, and where did you get the bridge for it?
Might need to try that out on my Squier Tele.

It is indeed GFS. It didn't work worth a damn in this case, simply because of all the friction involved: I was using the original bridge setup. The vibrato itself would have been fine with a good (possibly roller) bridge.loch raven wrote:Extremely cool. Is the vibrato one of the cheap GFS ones? I just scored one off craigs yesterday. It's from '05, and it's minty- sunburst.
I'm still working on the setup... there were some really strange things going on with pickup height, action, etc...
So far, so good. Neat little guitar. Not as nicely-finished as my CV Tele though.
Pics!
The bridge pickup rips, and bucker + neck sounds pretty nice too. Otherwise, meh.

I have a blonde which I have had for a year and a half or so.
Has a Lace Sensor Gold in the neck (which I love) and a GFS bridge (which I dont really). Plane to swap out the bridge for a three saddle like I have done on this one
Almost stock apart from the pickguard and I have modded the bridge. Big improvement in tone IMO.
The blonde one cost me £120, the sunburst I got off ebay for £41! I actually like the cheaper one better.
I have to say I love the stock bridge humbucker, nice and bright, almost has a P90 quality to my ears. Great for slide playing too.
So much so that I bought a spare '51 hummer and dropped it into this '51 styled resonator, which now resides with a player in France
