I've no idea of what kind of music they play but I wonder where's the sense of having a JM tailpiece on a firebird if you don't put the trem arm on it.
BTW I like the idea of the trem, while I hate the choice of the bolt on neck on a firebird since it's pecuilarity is in the one piece neck thru body construction with mhoghany wings..
Well, regardless of whether or not you whang, the floating bridge/sprung tailpiece and additional string length is going to affect the overall sound of the guitar. I don't think it matters on stage, other than giving you more feedback if you want/need it, but in more intimate and studio settings it may be a noticeable thing.
I like it. Due to an extensive history I won't go into, I would never own a firebird again because of the head snapping issue. A bolt on firebired? yeah, I like that idea. A bolt on firebird with a jazzmaster trem? Yeah, I love that idea. The whole softened up explorer shape thing has always appealed to me. I wonder what the body is made out of?
May God bless the Banjo Players... They try so hard...
