I rewired the guitar to the Cobain diagram. It still wasn't working properly. After a bit more fiddling around, I discovered that the treble bleed capacitor in the switch control was touching up against the wall of the guitar cavity, which is painted with grounding paint. I put a bit of tape over and now everything works fine!

The only problem is the main tone volume. It cuts the volume when you turn it down slightly. Which means I really need to know what that resistor is? because I'm pretty sure that's the secret ingredient.

Thanks, that helps.
I'll try and get hold of one but I wonder if the values matter considering I'm using 250k pots and a .02 cap?

well resistors don't cost a lot so you could try a few. seeing as you've quartered the resistance of the pots maybe look for a resistor around 14k?

Thanks. I just looked this up and found a link where someone had the same issue. All they did was bypass the resistor by connecting the middle and outer lug together.

I tried it then by touching a screwdriver over the jugs and it seems to work. I'm off to wire it up!

I had to do it. The wigsby was too shit. It wouldn't stay in tune and it added too much extra weight to the guitar.

I stuck a normal Jaguar tremolo on it. It's so much better now. Sounds like a Jag and stays in tune. The roller saddles are amazing too.

Now just replace the pickups with three jag pickups, and you'll have an ultra-strat.

In a way, I'm kind of glad to hear the Wigsby was too shit! I was looking for one for the Fiestakota. I couldn't find one, so I convinced myself that they didn't look like they'd work as well as I'd hope for. Guess I was right!

if a wigsby is anything like a bigsby you just have to get them well set up

I am SO disappointed about the wilkinson trem...
Bigsbys are cool, but the string spacing is narrow coming off the roller, which causes grief depending on what bridge you're using. The wigsby seemed better in that respect. I had high hopes.

I've been looking for one, but they are non-existent now on eBay.
Either they got enough bad press, or jingle-jangle ( I think that's who it was) actually did buy them all...
(Christopher, also)
I've been to one World's Fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing i ever heard come out a pair of headphones.

Well, I'm probably going to sell mine. Keep an eye out in the sale section soon.

What bridge (with roller saddles) was used on this guitar?
