Hi Pulse,
If you buy a warmoth neck, you should put 2nd thought to a warmoth body. when you mix and match different aftermarket parts, that's when problems occur.
the USACG body still might need some adjustment to an AVRI guard. the USACG body is like any other aftermarket part....
If you do have your heart set on a USACG body with a Warmoth neck and US RI parts, you should be able to make it work. it just might not all fit perfectly at 1st attempt---

Mm, mcjt has a good point. I'd be more confident using a AVRI guard with a USACG body than a Warmoth body though. The USACGs are at least made to fit with normal parts, Warmoth explicitly state their bodies and pickguards will not work with other bodies/pickguards. You could go with a USACG neck too.

People who've done USACG Jazzmaster projects, have you had to modify the body for an aftermarket pickguard to fit?

I'm curious too, it's my first project and think that I'd freak out if it's too difficult,
I want to do as less mods as possible.

hi, warmoth says their PICKGUARDS are designed for their bodies and not for vintage ones, due to the fact they have modified the guard around the bridge. A warmoth body that has a vintage style rout could perhaps take an AVRI guard just as well as USACG or Allparts. i would write them and ask....

after some search I did on the web I found that some people prefer musikraft necks over warmoth,
and some guys like the bodies from guitar mill. Has anyone got some experience combining those two?

Hi! As I said before I decided to go for a musikraft neck for my project,
and before I send them the form with the specs of the neck,
I ask them about the jazzmaster body that I read on another thread.
They answer me that they still work on some details and that they will know
on a couple of weeks. Their price for a 2 piece swamp ash on black nitro
will be 375 $ plus shipping, so I decide to wait and buy both neck and body from them.
What do you think? My other choise is a guitarmill body, but I think that if
they both be from the same manufacter will match better. Am I right?

their JM body is based on my 1960 body that i sent them. they made me a prototype copy, which i felt had some issues (i think they rushed it). It was still quite close.
I still have more faith in Warmoth, as it being a little more high-tech and pro, while Musikraft strikes me as smaller scale and artisanal. Apparently there are folks who would swear by one company or the other, and i have tried both, and I would lean toward Warmoth...

The only problem that I have with warmoth is that I'm quite sure that it won't fit an allparts or another brand's
gold pickguard, it;s my first project and I'm little anxious about this. Also I want a nitro finish and if I buy an
unfinished body it will cost me 356$ to paint it someone here in athens, greece. I heard that Musikraft necks are great,
and they have pretty fair price.
What's a fair price for a used avri tremolo and bridge?

I finally made my mind, I'll go for a warmoth neck and body.
I'll have a strat neck a birdseye maple with Pau Ferro or kingwood board,
with 10-16 compound radius. The body will be an one piece swamp ash.
I'll have them both finished in nitro, the body in black and probably
the headstock too. The tremolo will be avri, I haven't made my mind yet,
for the bridge Jazzmaster or Mustang?  The pickguard would be allparts
gold anodized and the pickups seymour duncan antiquities II ( for now,
I might go for novaks later). The keys from gotoh locking klusons.
What else?
I'm very happy, I finally start my first project

The saddles height of  a mustang bridge are meant to fit a  9,5" radius so it won't work with a 10/16" compound radius.
You could choose a warmoth modified bridge but i put one in the project i just done and frankly, it buzzes has much if not more than a trad JM bridge.
My advice is to choose a trad JM bridge.. they're easy ways to fix it's little problem if it ever happens.

Will I have a problem with the jazzmaster bridge and the compound fretboard?

The jazzmaster bridge is the best you can get because it's fully adjustable: you can adjust each saddle height as you like and you can even choose the distance between the strings by putting them in the grooves as you like.


And it's good you will use an AVRI trem: you'll have less string jumping problem
