some news on the projects, I've ordered a lot of things, and all should be here pretty quickly except for the body. Here it is:

- JM Aged pup cover set (to make humbuckers ring)
how do you want to make rings for the WR with JM covers ?
because the WR are not the same size :

My plan was to make FWR rings with strat back plates..

with JM covers, you can do rings for standards Humbuckers, but not for WR...
the strat back plate can be an idea, but it will be hard to attach it to the JM pickguard because there's a hole on each side of the pup...
or the ring have to be very wide  :-\

that's why I made a custom pickguard for mine, it was the best way to have something "nice"

yes I was beginning to think of something like that. But I'm sure I can find some plastic parts cheaper than a strat back plate.
I'll have a better view when the pickups will be here

a little update on the project :
- the neck is here
- All the elcetronics including pickups are here
- bridge tremolo also

I just miss the screws for the tremolo, the screws and springs for the Wide Range pickups.
The tuners are on their way.

The body is being made, I have no idea when it will be done

And I asked Aug to make a special pickguard so the FWR can fit.

For now I just have to find screws, I was thinking of making an order on an online shop, by adding a bridge cover and a mute.
But I've no idea for the pickup screws and spring anyone knows where I can find that ? :(

I'll take pics this week-end!

FWR screws : http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/scre ... genfen.htm

Tremolo screws:  http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/scre ... unting.htm
take the "(5) Genuine Fender nickel finish Telecaster bridge mounting screws. Oval phillips head. $3.99  001-6188-049"  and NOT the jazzmaster screws. they're not the good ones.

Yes two bags. You'll have more than needed but it's always good to have spare screws..

Hi,

I've made some tests today, and I'm worried about something:
The holes on the neck do not fit well with the neck plate.

I'm not sure about what to do ? Should I fill the holes, and drill new ones ? I know I've seen JM with Telecaster Deluxe neck here on the forum, does anyone have an idea ?

And I'm still waiting for Aug's pickguard and the body!

The neck is drilled for a three bolt micro tilt neckplate. They are narrower between the upper two holes. Than the hole in the metal disc is used as hole#3 and you have a tilt screw to change the abngle of the neck (instead of shims).

Buy a three bolt "F" neck plate! That should look really cool. (I was thinking of that for my JM deluxe, but then I have an allparts body with the screwholes foor a four bolt neck predrilled and they should show if iI used a three bolt.
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?
